Trials, fees,
no small print.
Everything a new family asks before signing up, answered in one place: how a trial works, what subs cover and how they are paid, and what happens when you have more than one child at the club.
Trial sessions
Come and play before you commit to anything.
Nobody joins this club sight-unseen. Every new player starts with a trial session with the age group they would actually be in — same coach, same pitch, same Saturday-morning noise. Each trial date shows its price when you book, and there is no obligation afterwards.

Tell us about your child
Register your interest with your child’s date of birth and anything we should know — medical needs, how confident they are, whether a friend already plays here. It takes a couple of minutes and there is no payment at this stage.

We match the age group
Squads run in school-year bands. We will confirm which group your child fits and when that group trains, then give you a date, a venue and a time to turn up.

Come and play
Boots, shin pads, a drink and weather-appropriate layers — that is it. No club kit needed for a trial. Parents and carers are welcome to stay and watch the whole session; most do.

Decide together
Afterwards the coach will talk to you about how it went and whether the group is the right fit. If everyone is happy, you complete registration and your child is in. If not, there is no awkwardness and nothing more to pay.
Bring on the day
- Boots and shin pads — shin pads are compulsory in every session, trial included. Trainers are fine on 3G if you do not own boots yet.
- A full water bottle — named, ideally. There is no tap at most of the pitches we use.
- Layers for Essex weather — sessions run in the cold and the drizzle. A spare top for after is a good idea.
- Nothing else — no club kit, no registration fee, no forms on the day.
Fees
One monthly sub. No surprise invoices.
Grassroots clubs are not-for-profit: subs pay for pitches, referees, league registration, insurance, balls, bibs and the things that wear out. Nobody at this club takes a wage from your subs.
Monthly subscription
£25.00/ month
Per player, collected monthly by card through the Player / Parent / Guardian Portal. You can see, pause or cancel it yourself from your account — no letters, no chasing.

- Weekly coached training for your child’s age group, following the season syllabus.
- League and cup fixtures — pitch hire, match officials and competition entry.
- Player registration and insurance for the season.
- Portal access — fixtures, availability, payments and your child’s Player DNA development record in one account.
What it does not cover
- Club kit — bought once from the club shop and worn until they grow out of it.
- Holiday camps and one-off events — priced individually on the camps page.
- Optional 1-on-1 coaching — booked and paid per session on the booking page.
If money is the thing stopping you
Talk to us before you walk away. Payment can be spread, paused during a long injury or a hard month, and the club has fundraised specifically so that cost is not the reason a child in Romford misses out. That conversation is private and it is with one person, not the committee.

Plenty of our families have a second — or third — child at the club, and we do not want the second registration to be the one that gets talked out of it.
Camps and holiday courses
Sibling pricing is built into camp sign-up. When a second or subsequent child is booked using the same parent email address, the discount set for that camp comes off automatically at checkout — you do not need a code and you do not need to ask.
Monthly subs for a second child
Sibling arrangements on monthly subs are handled case by case rather than by a fixed published rate — how many children, which age groups and how many sessions a week all change the answer. We would rather look at your household than quote you a percentage that turns out not to apply.
Register both children as normal, then message the club with their names and age groups. We will confirm what you will actually pay before anything is collected.
